my name is jordan Turgeon, and i’m Good with words.
I left traditional news behind in 2019 after working as a journalist for eight years for a major media organization.
Leading up to this change, I’d done pro bono and freelance work in my (limited) free time, helping folks with content strategy, copy writing and miscellaneous marketing. When people asked what I did for a living, I’d tell them:
I’m a journalist — writing and editing. I do marketing and communications on the side, too. And I help with content strategy and social media copy. I work with words, basically.
At a networking event shortly after I left traditional news, a colleague added to that explanation:
And she’s good with words.
I most recently worked for five years as a writer, producer, and marketing and project manager for the award-winning podcast “Terrible, Thanks for Asking,” hosted by Nora McInerny, and also helped expand her Feelings & Co podcast catalog into new shows, including “It’s Going to Be OK,” “The Terrible Reading Club,” and “Time Capsule: The Silver Chain.”
Currently, I help freelance clients find and use their words to build community and growth. I love working with podcast teams, growing businesses, nonprofit organizations and smaller media entities.
Words aren’t everyone’s thing, but they are mine. Let’s chat about how I can help you better use yours.
